I Used to Be a Good Mother... Until Everything Changed

In this documentary, we step onto the streets of Baltimore to look past the statistics and uncover the raw, heartbreaking human stories behind the addiction crisis. We follow the journeys of two women fighting to survive an environment that demands everything and gives nothing back. ❤️Courtney is 29 years old. For her, the descent into heavy addiction began with an unthinkable tragedy the loss of her son, who passed away from starvation due to his father’s severe neglect. Having endured the unimaginable pain of losing two of her children, Courtney wakes up every day struggling to find a purpose. To her, being a mother is everything she knows, and her deepest desire is to get clean and return to her remaining children. But trapped in Baltimore's relentless street environment, she is forced to hustle every single day just to survive and support her addiction. ❤️Riley is 38 years old, a mother, a grandmother, and a former U.S. Army veteran who once served her country. Over the past year, the streets have taken a brutal toll on her. After a vicious assault left her hospitalized with stitches in her head, Riley is the first to say that this lifestyle is not for anyone, and no human being should have to endure this level of trauma. While she desperately wants to be back with her family, she bravely opens up about the devastating reality of a disease that feels stronger than her will to leave. By sharing her truth, Riley hopes her pain can serve as a warning to save someone else from walking this same dark path.
