When an emotion takes the wheel, we can react impulsively, make decisions based on pain, close our hearts, defend ourselves, run away, chase after crumbs of love, or stay in places that no longer serve us. But when we learn to pause, breathe, and reconnect with our bodies, an inner space begins to open up. And in that space, a wiser part of ourselves emerges: a part that can feel without abandoning itself, love without losing itself, set boundaries without guilt, and make decisions from a place of greater balance. Emotional intelligence can also be cultivated.
