Devil's Tower Wyoming: Also film location for Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Devils Tower Wyoming If you've never visiting Wyoming, I highly recommend it. This state is full of beautiful scenery and lets not forget, Yellow Stone National Park...please don't take selfies with the fluffy cows. Devil's tower is located in Wyoming's upper northeast area near the towns of Sundance and Hulett WY. Contrary to popular internet myth, this is not an ancient Petrified Tree. Instead, its a butte, laccolithic, composed of igneous rock. Its also long been considered a sacred place to several Native Indian Tribes such as the Lakota, Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Crow. They all for the most part have given it a similar name, the Bear House or Bear Lodge. Early explorers mistranslated what the Natives called it thinking they said "Bad God House" and thus named it Devil's Tower.
