The second-generation new model has about 20% more hydrogen capacity than the first-generation model. Fuel efficiency has improved by about 10%. And the drive system has been changed from FF to FR. The FC stack (power generation device) installed at the front has an external power supply outlet, and can be used in a home when combined with an external power supply (sold separately). This, along with the two accessory outlets (AC100V 1500W) installed inside the car, will be useful in the event of a disaster (nice!). The vehicle price, including consumption tax, is 7.1 million to 8.05 million yen (as of the end of February 2021). The owner, Mr. Hiratsuka Tanuki, lives in Kanagawa Prefecture, so he will receive a subsidy of 1.4 million yen. However, this money can only be received after ownership. Also, if you do not own it for four years, you will be penalized. I don't know... The MIRAI is great to drive! You can drive it normally without any discomfort. Since the car weighs over 1,800 kg, it does not have the intense acceleration typical of EVs, but the ride feel of a gentle premium saloon is exactly what the development team intended. However, the feeling around the neutral steering when cruising at high speeds is a bit soft, and these two old guys would prefer it to be a little clearer. Good job, Airi! That's what the MIRAI said, but for the two of us who have rolled around many cars on our bellies like sea otters floating on a lake, it was not bad...or rather, for some reason we both wanted a Crown → Toyota should make a Celsior now!
