1989 and the Nintendo Entertainment System

1989 was a very good year for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I'm now on Patreon! Most of this footage was captured on the FPGA based, AVS. I did use the NES Classic for Tecmo Bowl which is why the players were removed. 2. 1989 gave us some stinkers too. Friday the 13th, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Predator, and Hydlide to name a few. 3. Likewise there was also more great software like Willow and Ultima. 4. I did keep my NES for a stretch of time after I received the Genesis. Sega's machine commanded the lion's share of my attention, however. 5. I own multiple NES consoles today. None are modded which is why I use the AVS. That composite only output is problematic for high quality captures. 6. I was never much of the NES Zapper or its games. Personally I thought the Sega Light Phaser on the Master System was far better supported. 7. I knew a single kid with a Master System at that time. In my area, Sega was something you only saw in magazines for most kids.
