Some of these pumps have pressure switches that signal the pump to start pumping when water is drawn from the tap or garden hose, and to switch the pump off again when the tap is turned off. These pressure switches on domestic water supply systems are usually preset at the factory and should be operated within this range. However, you might need a higher pressure, for example, for an expandable garden hose or similar, or you might want to operate a much lower cut-in pressure if, for example, you want to use it to power a small well or something similar. The pressure switch is usually hidden under a cover and is secured with screws to which springs are attached. These screws also have symbols on them. This allows you to freely define the switch-on and switch-off pressures. The only limitations are the pump's power and the material thickness.
