CHP Parliamentary Group Chairman Özgür Özel, in a speech in Amasya, stated, "I will not allow you to be devastated, saddened, or to cry again on an election night. I will do whatever it takes for this. I have accepted all the costs, all the struggles that must be undertaken. We are not divided. We are absolutely not after division or conflict. Addressing the crowd that greeted him at Künç Bridge in Amasya, CHP Parliamentary Group Chairman Özgür Özel said, "I don't know what to say, how to thank you, how to express how important a milestone this feeling you have given us today is in history. I love you all very much, I embrace you all tightly." Özel noted the following: "We are here on a completely different night, with completely different emotions. Of course, I understand your anger and frustration. However, instead of these words of anger, we need to transform this anger into resistance, struggle, and determination, turning the words of anger into words of hope and resolve, overturning this conspiracy against us, disrupting their plans, and marching towards power together. I want words of hope and determination instead of words of anger. Throughout the day, my aunts and mothers told me, 'I cried so much for you.' I became the general chairman so that no one would cry, so that the women's branches, mothers, and sisters of this party wouldn't cry on election nights. My voice trembled when I saw that scene in Taşova. What does it mean to be greeted by 15,000 people in front of a hotel in Amasya, just an hour and a half later? I must say this: Someone made a plan, set up a game. Someone who hasn't lost an election in 24 years, who comes out on top in elections, who has been the second or third party for 47 years, sometimes falling below the threshold, when they see the change in our party, when they see your faith in our cadres..." Five months after the Change Congress, when they saw that we had made our party the leading party in Türkiye and were marching towards power with successful mayors, they set up a trap, a conspiracy against our party. What was that conspiracy? They set up a conspiracy against the party to stop this march, to halt us, by bringing back the general chairman who had won the mandate in the last four elections, the general chairman who had won all the valid votes in the last three, by going to the congress held six years ago during the pandemic. The plan of the Palace will be thwarted by the plan of Amasya. After 107 years, they are heralding a new liberation, a new establishment. Know this: I will give my life if necessary, but I will not bow down. Know this: I will not allow you to be devastated, saddened, or cry again on an election night. I will do whatever it takes for this. Whatever price needs to be paid, whatever struggle needs to be waged, I have accepted it all. We are not divided. We are never after division or conflict.
