In 1998 the Museum of Television & Radio (now known as "The Paley Center for Television") inducted "The Nanny," the hit comedy series about a Jewish cosmetics saleswoman who winds up working as a nanny for a wealthy English businessman in Manhattan. Museum television curator Ron Simon introduces the following members of the creative team of "The Nanny": producer and director Dorothy Lyman; cast members Benjamin Salisbury, Nicholle Tom, Madeline Zima, Rachel Chagall, Ann Guilbert, Renee Taylor, Daniel Davis, Charles Shaughnessy, and Fran Drescher; co-executive producers and writers Frank Lombardi and Caryn Lucas; writers Prudence Fraser and Robert Sternin; executive producer Diane Wilk; and producer and creator Peter Marc Jacobson. The panelists comment on the following topics, among others: influences on the show's premise; the story behind the development of the pilot episode; cast members' past experiences which influenced their roles on the series; the nature of the auditions; and their favorite scenes of pure comedy during the run of the series.
