Beginners preparing for a lift often fail to consider their vehicle's current height and weight. Many mistakenly believe that they can simply raise the car by 2 or 3 inches without any further explanation. (Of course, there are many highly knowledgeable people who proceed without additional explanation. This post is written for those who are unfamiliar with the process.) It would take too long to explain everything in detail... so I will start by speaking based on the Musso Q300 shown in the video. This is because classifying the applicable specifications is quite a headache.... The Musso Q300 is broadly divided into two types: Standard and Grand. Within those, there are Standard Deck and Long Deck models, and within the Long Deck, there are Coil Spring and Leaf Spring options. The Standard model has a ride height about 1 inch higher than the Grand model. You might assume that only the springs are higher, but if you apply the 2-inch lift springs shown in the video to the Grand model, the shock absorber rods are not short. Strange, isn't it? It is the same car.... So, even though it is the same vehicle, I decided to treat it as if it were a completely different car. Using the stock shock absorbers as is, based on the unladen weight, the ideal length for the standard Musso Q300 is approximately 0.5 inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear, while for the Grand model, 1 to 1.5 inches in the front and 2 inches in the rear is considered ideal. (This is based on unladen weight. If the load increases depending on the load on a specific part, the length must be adjusted accordingly.) The vehicle owner in the video was debating whether or not to replace the shock absorbers with longer ones, but ultimately removed the existing 2-inch springs and replaced them with 1-inch ones.
