Olivier Sichel : "Les Français épargnent car ils sont inquiets de la conjoncture économique"

In an unstable international context that is prompting the French to save more, Olivier Sichel, CEO of the Caisse des Dépôts since 2017 and director of the Banque des Territoires since 2018, was a guest on Public Sénat's morning show, "Bonjour Chez Vous." Regarding issues affecting the French people's daily lives, Olivier Sichel highlighted the management of their savings through the Livret A savings account and announced an increase in the Livret A rate by July: "We expect the rate, which is set by the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, to be raised next month." The director explains the formula for calculating this rate, currently set at 1.5%: "It's an arithmetic formula; we take the average of inflation and short-term interest rates."
