Kenapa Sih Dokter Bisa Gabung The Last Overland Singapore - London?? (Retouch Audio)
The Last Overland 2019 Singapore to London This 111-day journey began in Singapore on August 25, 2019, and finished in London on December 14, 2019, exactly the same months as the COVID-19 outbreak in China. What was my role on this trip? The Alex and Marcus Expedition Team asked me to act as the doctor, main driver, and mechanic throughout the journey from Singapore to London. The journey passed through 23 countries, with over 80 cities where we stayed for one or two nights. All vehicles used were Land Rovers. The oldest is a 1955 Land Rover (named Oxford), which was previously used from London to Singapore in 1955 (a 6-month, 7-day journey). The second is a 2007 Defender with a TD5 engine, and the youngest is a 2015 Defender Puma. This team consists of eight people (in our WhatsApp group we call it the Road Team) from five countries: three from England, one each from Indonesia, Singapore, Belgium, France, and the United States. In the air is Tim Slessor, the First Overland participant, and Adam Bennett, the current owner of Oxford. It seems like they represent each of these countries, but they were actually brought together by accident. Three people from England, Alex and Marcus, are the trip leaders and managers. Nat joined to fill in for Tim Slessor's grandfather, whose illness prevented him from joining. David (American) and Leo (French) have both collaborated with Alex on a documentary film in Yangon, Myanmar. Tibie (Belgium) wasn't entirely clear about how I joined. I initially only acted as a social media manager, not initially planning to join the trip. Larry Leong (Singapore), who had already driven twice from Singapore to London on different routes, joined as the most experienced and was involved from the very beginning when the idea for this trip came to me with the Slessor Team. Docsil (Indonesia) volunteered as a freelance field doctor with local, national, and international clients. I enjoy Land Rovers, have a strong local and international community of Land Rover owners, and enjoy outdoor activities. The response was positive, and from the start, I didn't fuss over Alex and Marcus. We first met in person in Singapore in February 2019, then again at the unveiling of the Oxford car in May 2019 at Jaguar Land Rover Singapore. Then, I had three months to secure visas and prepare for the expedition, both for personal and team needs. Enjoy the story, sorry the street sounds were recorded too and I didn't use a mic at that time, to be precise I forgot to bring it, hahah, Thank you for watching, next time maybe I'll re-record it so the sound is clearer.
