Forgotten caves of an ancient hunting camp

I return to an ancient hunting camp high in the mountains of the south western United States, where its inhabitants lived in caves to survive the rugged landscape. Some of the caves have been documented, others haven’t. I spend two days searching the lava beds for signs of human habitation with the hopes of finding these hidden places. But a sound that I have never heard before calls from the forest.
