Kiwi Ears Halcyon Review

Preamble: Kiwi Ears are no stranger to most in the IEM space. The $199 Halcyon is one of their most ambitious releases to date. With a dynamic driver, three balanced armatures, and a MEMS driver, the Halcyon’s tri-brid driver complement is notable. Including a MEMS driver places the Halcyon in rarified territory, at least as of the writing of this review. I had recently reviewed the Binary Acoustics EP321, yet another of this rare breed of IEM that uses MEMS drivers. The tuning is a mild V-shape with a decidedly resolving nature. Moderately easy to drive, the Halcyon benefits from better, more resolving sources and scales accordingly.
