Backcountry Llama Clinic - Ep.23 - Llama Life

Welcome back friends! We have a packed day today here on Llama life! To start, Kirstin explains the llama "alarm call". Llamas use this call to warn the whole herd that there is danger near. Then Kirstin is feeding the little babies. Sometimes our maidens (first time mommas) have a hard time producing enough milk. In these instances we always try to supplement the baby llamas diet with goat milk. Kirstin explains how you know how much milk to give to each baby. Beau is out with some clients on a backcountry pack llama clinic. We always do this with first time renters of our llamas. It relives the nerves of our guest and we can properly teach them how to lead and take care of the llamas. This is the first overnight trip for one of our young studs and Iceman. We also have Marcus Leupold, the Public Lands Llama with us on this trip. Marcus is traveling with hunter Randy Newberg this season, leading the way on many backcountry hunts over the next couple years. Thanks for watching!
