#lovetaupo #hukafalls #cratersofthemoon #newzealand #familysidetrip From Ruapehu, we drove our way to Taupo via Desert Road and took a little side trip along the road for a photo op with Ruapehu in the background but sad to say the peak was covered with clouds. As soon as we arrived in Taupo, our first order of business was of course to visit the famous McDonald’s branch in NZ where you get to dine inside the plane. Another top activity in Taupo is the geothermal walk at the Craters of the Moon. It is 45 45-minute walk around a cratered valley and another 20 minutes to get to the upper walkway for a worthwhile view from the top. And of course, when in Taupo, Huka Falls is a must-visit. You will hear the deafening sound of the falls as they crash through the narrow canyon before you can even see them. The flow and current of the falls are incredibly strong and mesmerizing. The mix of blue and green colors of the river is just beautiful. After checking in in our accommodation, we had a stroll along Lake Taupo and ended our day with a sumptuous dinner. // We are a Filipino family of three who loves to take on adventures.
