Learn My Transforming Color Tricks! I hope you enjoy this pastel painting tutorial where I paint some energetic and colorful Queen Anne's Lace flowers on a Pastel Surface I had never used before.... Pastel Premier 320 Grit (Italian Clay color). You probably know that I like to interpret and intensify color and that is exactly what I did with this painting. The reference image was lovely, but the color was a bit drab, lacking pizazz. I also had so much fun using Pastel Premier 320 grit for the first time. Oh boy, can this surface take layers! I was amazed at how many layers it took without muddying the color. This is my painting #2 of the 20 in 30 challenge this month.
