Rutlands Router lift What a disappointment - Holtonsfixit101

Welcome to Holtonsfixit101. This is the router plate and motor that was originally fitted to my new router table which turned out to be a big disappointment. The router lift straight out of the box there were problems with it from fitment of the winding mechanism because the cogs not meshing properly and slop in the winding screw for hire-ring and lowering the router motor. The router motor well fine when I first had it but after using a couple of days for different cut the motor started slowing down and speed up for no reason. Not because I was going to deep with the cut. In some cases I just switched it on and it would got up and down through the rev range. So clearly there's something deeply wrong with this complete setup to the point were I got very cheesed off with it. The moral to this story is I ordered a lift from Jessem, the master lift 2 and a router motor from the woodworkers workshop and touch wood (pardon the pun) never looked back.
