Roasted Parsnips - Crispy Outside, Soft Inside!

Roasted parsnips are the ultimate side dish for any meal, with a crispy exterior and soft, tender inside that’s packed with natural sweetness. In this video, I’ll show you an easy, step-by-step recipe for perfectly roasted parsnips, featuring olive oil, salt, pepper, and a hint of shichimi (Japanese seven spice) for a flavourful twist. These parsnips make a delicious, satisfying side that’s simple to prepare and perfect for family dinners, holiday feasts, or any time you want a tasty vegetable option. One of my favourites is parsnip. When done right, they are almost crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The only issue is roasted parsnips need to be eaten almost straight from the oven, otherwise, the skip will become slightly chewy. This becomes an issue when you are hosting. My solution is always to cook them a bit later, so they arrive at the dinner table 5-10 minutes into dinner, so everyone could have a fresh and hot serving. I use Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese seven spices) a lot, but I normally add them as an optional ingredient in my recipes. For root vegetables, I think they are a must because they add so much depth to them, especially parsnips and carrots. Ingredients Parsnips - cut into equal size Olive oil Salt Black pepper Shichimi Togarashi Parsley - sliced Directions 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) fan. 2. Add parsnips to a mixing bowl, and season with salt, black pepper, and Shichimi Togarashi to taste. Drizzle a bit of olive oil and mix. 3. Transfer parsnips to a roasting tray lined with parchment paper. 4. Put the tray in the oven on the middle to top shelf and roast for 40 minutes or until the skin is well browned. Turn once after 20 minutes. 5. Transfer to a serving bowl and top up with olive oil if desired.
