That's when I first tried breeding them. But back then, I had to spend more time with them: mowing the grass, constantly feeding and watering them. Three years ago, I bought another pair—a female and a male. And I realized that care has become much easier: there's now compound feed and independent cages in which a rabbit can live for a week without human intervention. And when the first rabbits appeared, I decided to take over the garage and start breeding them. And so it all began: I fell in love with these sweet little creatures all over again." You know what they say: once you've kept rabbits, you'll definitely come back. And that's exactly what happened. Rabbit breeding has completely captivated me. Petros's garage is roughly divided into two halves. One half contains cages with young rabbits being fattened, females being raised, and breeding males. Petros opened the cage, and two cute little bunny faces with ears spread out immediately peeked out. Author's Note Males and females are kept separately, one at a time. This is because, starting at three months of age, males reach sexual maturity and begin to argue, fight, and can injure each other. The breeding stock is on the other side of the garage. This is where the females are kept, awaiting their offspring, and the mothers with their young. All the cages are equipped with trays that collect the rabbits' waste and anything that falls from the feeders. But food waste is negligible. I made absolutely all the cages, nesting boxes, hopper feeders, and waterers myself. I designed everything to my specifications so that everything would be used once and for all, without any alterations or modifications. I bought the cage mesh in 50-meter rolls because it was cheaper. For the "front" of the cage, I buy mesh with a mesh size of 25 x 25 mm. For the floors, I use a slightly different mesh size, 12.5 x 50 mm. The cages for pregnant and lambing does are larger. The dimensions of the mother cage are: 1 m long, 60 cm wide, and 40 cm high. The dimensions of fattening cages are slightly different. They don't need the same large enclosures as the mother rabbits. The dimensions here are as follows: width 1 m (divided in half into two “rooms”), depth 60 cm, height 30 cm. That is, for one rabbit the following dimensions are: 60 * 50 * 30 cm.
