Mr. Men and Little Miss Audiobook: Mr. Rude ❣️ Originally called Monsieur Bonhomme in France, as it consisted exclusively of male protagonists, this series was renamed when it expanded to include female characters. Aimed at very young readers, each book presents, over a few pages, the humorous adventures of a different character, identified by a particular characteristic (Mr. Slow, Mr. Tall, Little Miss Neat, etc.) and drawn in a very simple style. The series comprises 98 stories (51 Mr. Men, 47 Little Miss). The first character in the series was Mr. Tickle, an orange man with long, winding arms who tickles everyone. Roger Hargreaves is said to have drawn him to explain to his son, Adam, what a tickle feels like. After Roger Hargreaves' death in 1988, his son Adam continued his father's work with six new characters. In France, the "Mr. Men and Little Miss" collection has been published by Hachette Jeunesse since May 1983, and was initially known as the "Collection Bonhomme".
