I Visited Every LIRR Station In (Roughly) One Day (LIRR Speedrun)
The Long Island Rail Road is the largest and busiest commuter rail system in North America, carrying thousands of people across 124 stations and 11 branch lines on a frequent basis. As a lifelong transit enthusiast and Long Island resident, I decided to take advantage of the railroad's high frequency by traveling to all regular service stations across each branch throughout the entirety of the day. I've been planning this for the past few months, and I finally had some open time to attempt such a run, going from Montauk to Port Jefferson during the early hours of the morning. Despite the long endeavor, I enjoyed every minute as I've always been interested in trains, as most of the run felt like it passed by rather quickly. Join me as I attempt to set a TransitRuns record for speedrunning the LIRR in just over 24 hours!
