Nine inch 78 rpm records were not very common in the UK , Vocalion’s “Broadcast” & Crystalate’s Crown were the only ones available in the nineteen thirties. I was pleased therefore to obtain some very rare 9” Unip records when in France some years ago. So, here’s “Le Beau Danube Bleu” (J Strauss) Orchestre Symphonique on the Unip label from 1933 which is playing on my Alba 808 portable gramophone which has a 9” turntable.
