The origins of many Brazilian cities are intertwined with the history of the railway lines. This is the case in the city of Cruz Alta, in Rio Grande do Sul. There, residents and trains have coexisted side by side for over a century. However, houses are being built closer and closer to the train tracks. This impasse has ended up in court. Reporter Marcelo Magalhães traveled there and shows that the Federal Court held a public hearing in the city to try to resolve the situation.
