What does the new Land Use Framework mean for food, farming and nature?
After the government’s long-anticipated release of the Land Use Framework for England, join Green Alliance and a panel of experts to interrogate what the framework means for the future of our landscapes. The Land Use Framework arrives as the intended arbiter of the tensions on land use, promising a more strategic and joined up approach. So, is it up to scratch? In this session, we will move past the initial headlines to analyse what it fundamentally shifts on the ground. We will examine whether it successfully bridges the gaps to drive strategic use of land to grow food, reduce flooding, mitigate climate change and restore nature. We will then look to the future, exploring how the framework must be implemented to deliver a more resilient countryside. Panellists Chair: Sarah Williams, Director of strategic partnerships, Green Alliance Lydia Collas, Head of natural environment, Green Alliance Angela Francis, Director of policy solutions, WWF-UK Jack Watts, chief economist, National Farmers Union #GAevent Find our past events here: https://green-alliance.org.uk/events For more ideas, debate and insights from Green Alliance, head to our blog and podcast channel.
