#Ryokan #Hot Spring #Okutsuso Last weekend, I visited Okutsuso in Okayama Prefecture. Currently, Japan is experiencing heavy snowfall and severe cold, particularly in Hokkaido and the western coast. While not as severe as in Hokkaido or Tohoku, Tottori Prefecture and northern Okayama Prefecture also saw significant snowfall. Thankfully, I was able to complete my trip without major difficulties, but it once again reminded me that visiting a mountain hot spring in winter can be quite a challenge. Okutsuso is a venerable ryokan (Japanese inn) with a history of nearly 100 years. The main building is a registered tangible cultural property. It's famous for its foot baths and hot springs that gush directly from the ground.
