This year marks the 40th anniversary of the DPP's founding and the 30th anniversary of Taiwan's direct presidential elections. Along the way, countless democratic pioneers have fought for democracy and freedom in Taiwan, enabling the people to choose their own future. Today, we will collectively review this democratic journey, pay tribute to our predecessors, and take on the responsibility of protecting Taiwan and striving for its people. The 19 DPP-nominated mayoral and county magistrate candidates will also gather to receive the battle flag symbolizing responsibility and mission. The central and local governments will unite and cooperate to continue promoting wage increases, tax cuts, increased welfare, and reduced burdens, moving towards the goal of a "welfare state" and creating a better life for the people.
