후쿠오카에서 가는 혼슈 료칸, 아베 전 총리가 사랑한 나가토 유모토 온천 오타니 산소 (長門湯本温泉 大谷山荘)

I visited Otani Sanso, located in Yumoto Onsen, Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture. As a representative ryokan of Yamaguchi Prefecture, it is a historic establishment where the Russo-Japanese summit was held during the tenure of former Prime Minister Abe, who hails from Yamaguchi, and where Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko have also visited. With the opening of Hoshino Resorts KAI Nagato in 2020, coupled with a hot spring town revitalization project that began about a decade ago, the town, which had been in decline, has been beautifully refurbished. Recently, there has been a significant increase in visits from young people. It takes about two hours to get there from Fukuoka Airport, making it a great destination to combine with a trip to Kitakyushu or Shimonoseki.
