In this video, I discuss how we should understand the Prophet Muhammad's hadith, "I have been given five things that no prophet before me has been given; one of them is to instill fear in the enemy from a distance of a month's journey," in the context of today's world. Does this statement only describe a historical reality related to the battlefield, or does it also point to the moral, intellectual, and civilizational strength that the ummah should possess? Why are Muslim societies unable to create a deterrent effect on a global scale today? What role do economic weakness, scientific and technological backwardness, political fragmentation, and a lack of moral exemplary behavior play in this picture? In the modern world, "ruʿb," or deterrence, is no longer achieved solely through military power; it manifests itself through knowledge production, technology, the discourse of justice, and the construction of values.
