Berchtesgaden 2025 #5 - Böckelweiher und Kastensteiner Wand

Relaunch in 4K: I parked at the Aschauer Weiher natural swimming lake. From there, I hiked along the Bischofswiesen nature trail through the picturesque village of Hochgartdörfl. Shortly before reaching the Böcklweiher lake, I stopped at the airmen's memorial. The Böcklweiher is in a tranquil location and offers a fantastic view of the majestic Watzmann mountain. Bischofswiesen is also worth a visit. It's easily accessible by public transport and has a charming town center. I continued along the Maximilian-Reitweg trail to the Kastensteiner Wand viewpoint. From there, you have a breathtaking view over Bischofswiesen and the Watzmann. While the latter was shrouded in mist, the "Sleeping Witch" peak was completely exposed. Then, of course, I had to replenish my energy. I did so at the Kastensteiner Wand-Alm mountain hut, where they served a delicious currant and nut cake. ...`` ``` ```````````````````]`````)```)``)``)]``)]`)]]) We then followed the charmingly designed fairytale trail through Bischofswiesen back to the "Aschi"—that's what the locals call the Aschauer Weiher (Aschau Pond).
