Morro do Vigia offers a beautiful panoramic view of the entire length of Peró Beach and Conchas Beach, being connected to the mainland by a strip of sand that naturally separates these two beaches. Known in old documents as Morro do Vigia dos Ingleses (English Watchman's Hill), it even served as a lookout point, a place used by English privateers to watch the sea horizon in order to anticipate the arrival of Portuguese ships. The name is also associated with artisanal fishing practiced with canoes and nets, in which the fishing lookout stays on top of the hill watching the shoal of fish and guiding the fishermen at sea regarding the casting of the net, the direction of the shoal and the species.
