Dodge Cummins Axel Swap 1997 upgrade to 2002
It's pretty well known among Dodge enthusiasts that the breaks for the second gen Cummins trucks were basically the bare minimum. Add a big camper behind them and suddenly it feels like there really isn't much stopping you. To remedy this, we swapped in the front and rear axels from a 2002 truck. By doing this we replaced our small disk front rotors with a single piston caliper for a much larger disk and dual piston calipers. In the rear, the drum brakes were swapped for disk brakes.
