The first flight tests of the coaxial Mikron helicopter took place at the Voskresensk Aviation Center. The aircraft was developed by Moscow-based aircraft designer Valery Shokhov and the Giroplany.ru team. Dmitry Rakitsky tested the helicopter. It's a single-seat helicopter weighing up to 115 kilograms, doesn't require registration, and, more importantly, doesn't require airworthiness, and the pilot who flies it doesn't need a pilot's license. The first prototype was equipped with a two-stroke Rotax 503 producing 50 horsepower, but the aircraft designer plans to later equip the Mikron with a more modern engine and a rescue system. The planned speed is around 140 km/h, and the flight altitude is up to two kilometers. Helicopter pilots with practical experience on other types, such as the R-44 or the Mi-8, will be able to master the Mikron without any problems. The "Aviaregion-2016" air show for small and regional aviation will be held in Yaroslavl from Friday to Sunday, May 27-29. The organizers invite everyone to attend. "Vzlet Rossii" (Russian Takeoff) is the first large-scale aircraft modeling festival, with over 700 registered participants, and 360 models taking to the skies of Zhukovsky that day. All pilots, young and old, helped set a record for the number of aircraft models in the air simultaneously.
