Switzerland and the Alps Await: Day 1 - Home to Hythe - Yamaha Tracer 9 GT

First Video in the series of videos chronicling myself and Paul’s 8-day tour to Switzerland and the Swiss Alps during Whitsun 2023. Paul did the tour on his Kawasaki Z900RS with me on my Yamaha Tracer 9 GT. This first leg of the tour commences the two-and-a-half-day journey from home down to Hythe, Metz and ultimately arriving in Wilderswil, near Interlaken, in the afternoon of day three. Meeting up at our usual meeting place (Sainsbury’s) we pick up the M5 south M42 and M40 with a stop off for coffee at Oxford services. Re-joining the M40 we continue Southeast to pick up the M25 and M20. We were making good progress until the M20 ground to a halt due to someone threatening to jump from an overbridge. Eventually the police turned us around and led us back up the M20 to an emergency access point from where we were able to continue our journey south to Hythe and our overnight stay at the Swan Hotel. We visited the Taste of Kathmandu Nepalese restaurant in Hythe for dinner and what a treat that was, highly recommended. In the next video we head to Folkestone and join the Shuttle over to France to complete the next leg of the journey to Metz.
