Dedicated to the pioneers of the 1980s. The abandoned Võrtsjärve pioneer camp. During the Soviet era, pioneers spent a whole month at pioneer camps. Vouchers were inexpensive and primarily available to employees of the Tartu Control Equipment Plant (TZKA). Vouchers were also issued to employees of the Tartu Instrument-Making Plant, as well as cultural and educational workers. The pioneer camp was built in 1950. Today, it's quiet. The grounds are abandoned. The last time I was there was in 1986. I have all the names of the children in the photo (watch the video). If you'd like to know their names, please let me know in the comments. In 1986, we were joined by children from Belarusian cities affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster.
