An exploration of his work, "The Painter's Children in the Japanese Room", painted in 1874, allows us to note the decisive influence of Japanese esthetics on Fortuny in his final years. Meant as a gift to his father-in-law, the work was never fully completed due to Fortuny's untimely death, yet it remains as one of his finest paintings. http://www.museodelprado.es/en
