Check out the written version instead - [TBC] Elegoo Centauri Carbon Canvas Upgrade – We Asked For This? Elegoo annoyed a lot of Centauri Carbon owners. Not because the Canvas colour system didn’t exist… but because it appeared on the newer Centauri Carbon 2 before the promised upgrade arrived for the original machine. And yeah, people were not happy. Now the Canvas module is finally here. It’s affordable. It works. And to be fair, Elegoo did actually keep their promise. But now we get to the awkward question… After all that drama, do we actually want it? Because this is not a simple clip-on accessory. Fitting the Canvas means opening the printer up, replacing parts, routing cables, swapping toolhead components, changing the waste chute, adding brackets, updating firmware, and generally doing a lot more than some people may be expecting. Then there are the trade-offs. You gain colour changing. You gain filament runout failover. But you also gain more waste, more complexity, and you lose the ability to use the original lid properly once the module is installed. So in this video, we’re looking at what the Elegoo Canvas actually adds to the Centauri Carbon, what the install is really like, whether colour changing is worth the mess, and why the best feature might not be colour printing at all. Are we happy with Elegoo again?
