Sin Sentidos y sin Sentimientos - Los 3 Chiflados A Colores
The Three Stooges were an American comedy troupe active between 1923 and 1970. They made 190 short films for Columbia Pictures, which were regularly broadcast on television since 1959. They were characterized by their absurdist humor and physical comedy. Six members have been part of the team throughout its history (only three were active at any one time): Moe Howard and Larry Fine have been the permanent members throughout the trio's nearly 50-year run, and the pivotal "third Stooge" has been played (in order of appearance) by Shemp Howard, Curly Howard, Shemp Howard again, Joe Besser, and Joe DeRita. The group began in the early 1920s as part of the vaudeville comedy act known as "Ted Healy and His Stooges," originally consisting of Healy and Moe Howard. They were eventually joined by Moe's brother, Shemp Howard, and then Larry Fine in 1928. The four appeared in one film, Soup to Nuts, before Shemp went solo. He was replaced by his younger brother, Jerome "Curly" Howard, in 1932. Two years later, after appearing in a few films, the trio left Healy and signed a contract with Columbia Pictures to work on their own comedy shorts, now known as "The Three Stooges." From 1934 to 1946, Moe, Larry, and Curly produced over 90 Columbia shorts. It was during this period that the group was at the height of its popularity. Curly suffered a devastating stroke in May 1946, and Shemp returned, reconstituting the original cast, until his death from a heart attack on November 22, 1955. Actor Joe Palma was used to fill in the remaining Shemp-era shorts under contract (in a move later dubbed the "Fake Shemp"). Comedian Joe Besser joined as the third Stooge for two years (1956–57), leaving in 1959 to care for his ailing wife after Columbia wound down its shorts division. The studio subsequently released the shorts via Screen Gems, Columbia's television studio and distribution unit. Screen Gems then transferred the shorts to television, where the Stooges became one of the most popular comedy acts of the early 1960s. Comedian actor Joe DeRita was cast as "Curly-Joe" in 1959, replacing Besser for a new series of feature films. With intense television exposure, the trio regained momentum throughout the 1960s, particularly among children, until Larry Fine suffered a sudden paralyzing stroke in January 1970. Larry Fine died in 1975 after a series of strokes. Attempts were made to revive the Stooges, with supporting actor Emil Sitka in the role of Larry Fine in 1970 and again in 1975, but those efforts came to an end with the death of Moe Howard on May 4, 1975.
