Vietnam Vlog | 5 Days in Saigon & Da Lat

Thinking of traveling to Vietnam from the Philippines? 🇵🇭🇻🇳 Here’s our honest 5-day experience—and why this became one of my favorite international trips ever. From May 11–16, 2026, we flew with Philippine Airlines from Manila to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), explored the city, took a 7-hour overnight sleeper bus to Da Lat, experienced glamping in the mountains, and returned to Saigon for one last day before flying home. This trip cost us around ₱60,000–₱70,000 each—including airfare, accommodations, food, transportation, and activities—and honestly, worth every peso. This time, I chose comfort. No tipid mode. We stayed in beautiful hotels, rented a private car and driver, ate at amazing restaurants, and simply enjoyed the trip without stressing over every expense—and it made all the difference. What I loved most: ✨ The FOOD. Vietnam does not disappoint—Vietnamese coffee, Phở, Bánh mì, grilled chicken in Da Lat, fresh fruits with shrimp salt… and my absolute favorite: a Michelin Guide 2024 all-crab menu in Saigon. Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. ✨ Da Lat. Cool weather, peaceful vibes, beautiful scenery. If Saigon is loud, busy, and alive—Da Lat is calm, quiet, and healing. ✨ The experiences—markets, nightlife, Vietnamese head spa, full body massage, Mongo Land, glamping, and so much more. Travel tips for Filipinos: ✔ No visa needed for short trips ✔ Bring cash / withdraw cash—it’s easier ✔ Use Xanh SM (cleaner EV cars) or Grab ✔ Try the new Saigon Metro ✔ If traveling in May: Saigon is humid, Da Lat gets cool at night (but not too cold) I traveled with my church friends—Pastora Sharon, Lhynie Mae, Jerald, and Naomi (our Filipino friend based in Vietnam whose local insights saved us so much time and helped us find the best places). Out of all the countries I’ve visited, this was one of my best travel experiences—not just because Vietnam is beautiful, but because I gave myself permission to fully enjoy it.
