How to use a SIMPLE MANUAL FLASH - learn the basics of flash photography

I will show you how to use a simple external flash for photography. We’ll talk about the basics of flash photography and I’ll show you examples. In this video I use a retro flashes from Paffrath Kemper and Metz as example. These retro flashes are ideal for learning the basics of flash photography. I’ll conclude that flash freezes motion, and aperture and shutter speed have interesting features in flash photography. Aperture is the main lighting modulator for the nearby objects in the photo and shutter speed modulates the light for the more distant objects. Please note that old retro flashes may damage your modern camera if their flash trigger voltage is too high!
