Fiberglass Boat Repair

This is not a professional boat repair, and I am not a professional boat mechanic. My only experience is through rebuilding my own boat over the last year. In this video I attempt to repair one of my subscribers but using only fiberglass, resin, and gel coat. Having no experience repairing something like this before, I was in for a learning experience! I challenged myself to completely it in one day, but that just was not enough time. Even with 100 degree heat giving very fast drying times for all the layers. I needed to come back a second day to re-sand and re-paint to get a smoother finish. With that said, there are many things that can be improved upon my process in the video. Using a fairing compound helps get a smoother surface than using thickened resin like I did in the video. With that said, you can still do it without a fairing compound but you might be sanding a few more layers to get the finish smooth.
