Ezra Investment Unveils $560m Coal Plant in Sinazeze

By Patricia Mapiki Ezra Investment, a Zambian‑based company, has set up a 560 million US dollar coal‑powered thermo plant in Sinazeze, Southern Province. The Ezra Coal Power Plant will generate over 400 megawatts of electricity, which will be fed into the ZESCO national grid. Company Chief Executive Officer Meron Ezra told ZNBC News that the project will be implemented in two phases over four years. The first phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027, while the second phase will be completed in 2029. Speaking shortly after a team from ZESCO toured the plant, Mr. Ezra said the project will help stabilize electricity supply in the country. Meanwhile, ZESCO Chief Operating Officer Fitzpatrick Kapepe said the project has come at the right time, when ZESCO is expanding infrastructure to support energy generation nationwide. #EzraInvestment #CoalPowerPlant #Sinazeze #ZambiaEnergy #ZESCO #MeronEzra #FitzpatrickKapepe #ZNBCNews
