I traveled to the heart of the Andes to experience Pukllay: the grand gathering of Andean carnivals in Peru 🇵🇪. A celebration with over 500 years of history that brings together the dance, color, and identity of the indigenous peoples in one place: Andahuaylas, Apurímac. ✨🎭 For three intense days, I joined the grand parade, explored the town's historic streets, and was inside the stadium, where communities from different regions of Peru and even other countries presented their own ways of celebrating ancestral carnivals. At Pukllay 2024, I discovered that there isn't just one way to experience carnival. Multiple cultures, traditional dances, and expressions of identity converge here, making this event the most important Andean gathering in the country.
