Super Hang-On (Arcade) Full Game

Released in arcades in 1987 by Sega, Super Hang-On is a racing game for 1 player. The game is a sequel to 1985 game "Hang-On" featuring point-to-point motorcycle racing. This game is more an expansion than a sequel as the number of races available is increased from just one to 4, with different lengths & difficulty levels-the easiest race is the shortest at 6 stages, or you can run longer races with 10, 14 or 18 stages for more challenge. This time your motorcycle is also equipped with a Supercharger-when you reach maximum speed your speedometer will flash red & white-at this point you can activate the Supercharger for a super speed boost of nearly 30 MPH (44 KPH). It has unlimited usage as long as you're at full speed. Control is the same as before-by leaning left or right on the bike or turning the handlebars depending on the cabinet. Other racers can be passed for bonus points but colliding with them causes you to lose speed and control for a moment, and they can seem a bit aggressive sometimes. Each race has a time limit and if time runs out before reaching a checkpoint or the finish the game is over. You get bonus time for reaching checkpoints-this game also features the "Checkpoint" voice from Sega's "Out Run". If you reach the finish of the race before time runs out, you complete the race-each of the 4 races has a different ending sequence when you reach the finish. This video features all 4 races and all 4 endings. An alternate version of the game called "Limited Edition Hang-On" was released in arcades in 1991 with easier course layouts. The game was released for the Sega Genesis in 1989, a version that featured additional gameplay modes. It was also released for Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2003 as part of "Sega Arcade Gallery".
