Coroscanner sans symptôme : Caprice ou Nécessité ?
In this video, we will discuss the role of coronary CT in asymptomatic patients, i.e., those who do not present any clinical abnormalities that could suggest coronary artery disease. While the role of coronary CT as a first-line examination in stable symptomatic patients is now indisputable and established, its use for "pure" screening in patients who remain asymptomatic has not yet been validated, even though data are emerging. We will discuss why coronary CT is a possibility in this indication, and what we expect to learn more. ABOUT THIS VIDEO It was filmed and edited in Strasbourg in February 2025. The data I present are the most up-to-date according to my current knowledge. WHO AM I? Professor Mickaël Ohana, PU-PH in Radiology at the Strasbourg University Hospital (France). I am a radiologist specializing in cardiovascular and diagnostic thoracic imaging. My specific area of expertise is therefore cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cross-sectional imaging (CT and MRI), for which I completed two fellowships (clinical fellowships): 1/ one in Strasbourg (France) in 2011-2013 in thoracic imaging, 2/ and a second in Vancouver (Canada) in 2016-2017 in cardiac imaging. As a radiologist, I also provide out-of-hours care and therefore emergency examinations for all patients. Being fortunate enough to work in a university hospital, we see exceptional and instructive cases every day, which I try to share with you. As an academic, I am also involved in research and teaching. Those interested can find a complete and up-to-date list of my scientific publications here: vu.fr/ohana WHY DO I MAKE VIDEOS? I'm passionate about radiology, and the central role of radiology and the radiologist is unfortunately still little known, especially outside of hospitals. Likewise, our specialty is evolving at the speed of light, and new indications and possibilities appear very regularly. The goal is to share with you didactic cases, articles, courses, and food for thought to highlight the role of the radiologist and draw attention to new options available in radiology. In short, sharing knowledge with as many people as possible, doctors and the curious alike: for a visual specialty like radiology, YouTube is the best place!
