Maiden Voyage with My New Kayak - Old Town Sportsman 106 MK

I bought the kayak last November and have been waiting all winter to take it out for a spin. Today wasn't the best day but a small weather window opened up so I figured "why not?" April 1, 2023 in Michigan. It was cloudy, 48 degrees f, with a 15mph wind at the start of the voyage. An hour later it was 42 degrees f, raining, with 25mph winds. Potentially dangerous conditions if one was to fall in the water....so I was wearing a dry suit with several layers of clothes underneath it.
