CONVERSATION AVEC PIERRE CARLES : DES FARC À GEORGES I. ABDALLAH
Support Blast, a new independent media outlet: https://www.blast-info.fr/soutenir And support Pierre Carles' film about Georges Ibrahim Abdallah Like any independent and politically incorrect film, this documentary is difficult to finance. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched, and details of the fundraising appeal can be found here: https://www.cp-productions.fr/boutiqu... At the request of Pierre Carles and C-P Productions, we had to make some urgent cuts after the publication of our interview. These cuts only affect excerpts from the unreleased feature film "FARC Guerrillas: The Future Has a History" (2024). Pierre Carles and his producer prefer to reserve the premiere of their footage for cinemas. “If Blast wants to dedicate an episode to the story of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, I could possibly come and talk about it on your show.” This is how Pierre Carles approached Denis Robert to propose this unique encounter about his films. The best of these is his latest, the one that hasn't yet been filmed and is struggling to find funding. The director, who started in television in the late 1980s with the late Bernard Rapp on his show “L’assiette anglaise” (The English Plate), quickly shifted towards subversive documentaries critical of the media and those in power. Since “Pas vu, pas pris” (Not Seen, Not Caught) and “La sociologie est un sport de combat” (Sociology is a Combat Sport), Pierre Carles has never stopped dreaming of feature films and documentaries. Having barely finished his latest film about the FARC, the clandestine communist group that waged war for 40 years against wealthy Colombian landowners, he picked up his camera again to tell the story of the biggest political and legal fake news of the last century: the arrest and 40-year imprisonment of a revolutionary activist. A Lebanese man accused of attacks he did not commit. The common thread between the two documentaries is the misuse of the term "terrorist," a label that too often stifles reason, particularly in the media. Georges Ibrahim Abdallah has thus become the longest-serving prisoner of the Israeli-Palestinian war. There are a number of explanations for this extraordinary length of incarceration, which the investigative film "Who Wants Georges Abdallah in Jail?" will examine, pointing the finger at those primarily responsible: first and foremost, the United States government, but also certain French politicians, magistrates, and media figures who turned a blind eye, if not actively contributed to this erasure. Feel free to share this look back at the jungle and the prison and spread the word… Journalist: Denis Robert Editing: Émilie Fortun Sound: Baptiste Veilhan Graphic Design: Morgane Sabouret Diane Lataste Production: Hugo Bot Delpérié Program Director: Mathias Enthoven Editor-in-Chief: Soumaya Benaïssa Publishing Director: Denis Robert Website: https://www.blast-info.fr/ Facebook: / blastofficiel Twitter: / blast_france Instagram: / blastofficiel Mastodon: https://mamot.fr/web/@blast_info Peertube: https://video.blast-info.fr/ Twitch: / blastinfo #PierreCarles #Farc #GeorgesAbdallah
