Where did you start making music? On the steps, with my friend Miguel. We met in high school and decided to entertain ourselves with the guitar. We spent all day writing songs, and what I remember is exchanging records to imitate the singers we liked. Camarón, Pata Negra, Triana, and the Beatles brought us together, and that's how the group was born. Who gives you that nickname, "El Canijo" (The Canijo)? It was Miguel, also because of how thin he was. Los Delinquentes (The Criminals) came about because of our admiration for Kiko Veneno. When Kiko Veneno sponsored you, what did it mean to you? On the one hand, it was a lot of joy because collaborating with your idol and asking him questions is priceless. On the other hand, it was sad because Miguel had already passed away when we met him, and I was sad that I couldn't work with him. What does it mean for a twenty-something to lose a close friend? I rethought a lot of things. First, the drug issue, which brought me back down to earth, and then I considered quitting music. I went on a retreat for a few months to my parents' house on the beach and started writing songs.
