Greer Lankton at the 1995 Whitney Biennial
The Mattress Factory has added Greer Lankton’s "It’s all about ME, Not You" (1996) to its permanent collection. First shown as part of a group exhibition at the museum in 1996, the large-scale installation was recently given to the Mattress Factory by the late artist’s family. In this video (recorded at the opening reception for the 1995 Whitney Biennial), Greer talks about "Candy Darling" and "Blue Babe," two sculptures that are now on view as part of "It's all about ME, Not You." The permanent installation of Greer Lankton’s "It’s all about ME, Not You" is made possible by an Anonymous Donor, Judith Rothschild Foundation, Lambda Foundation and the artist’s family.
