O que são as relíquias de santos?

Recognizing the holiness of its faithful, the Catholic Church allows personal belongings or fragments of the body to be honored and venerated. Through this means, many of us ask for the intercession of the Saints and receive countless graces. To understand and honor relics, we can turn to biblical passages. In the Old Testament, Moses, upon leaving Egypt, took with him the mortal remains of Joseph (Exodus 13:19). In the New Testament, we can find examples of healings of people who, simply by touching the disciples' clothing, received the miracle (Acts 19:11-12). In addition, there is the story of a woman who suffered from hemorrhaging and was healed by touching Jesus' garment (Mark 5:28).
