Hebridean Adventure May 2025

A twelve day cycling and wild camping adventure from the bottom to the top of the Outer Hebrides and back. Both the landscape and weather were outstanding. Itinerary Tuesday 13th - 06:51 train to Glasgow from Carlisle. 10:36 train to Oban. Camp on Kerrera Wednesday 14th - 19:00 ferry to Castlebay from Oban. Cycle to Vatersay. Camp at Traigh Siar Thursday 15th - Cycle to Stoneybridge and camp on headland beyond cemetery Friday 16th - Cycle to Hosta and camp at Traigh-stir bay Saturday 17th - Cycle to Horgabost and camp at Traigh Niosaboist bay Sunday 18th - Cycle to Tarbert then Ardhasaig and camp on headland Monday 19th - Cycle to Callanish then cam on moorland outside Breasclete Tuesday 20th - Cycle to Butt of Lewis and camp outside lighthouse station Wednesday 21st - Cycle to Stornoway then Ardhasaig and camp on headland Thursday 22nd - Cycle to Howmore and camp outside hostel Friday 23rd - Spend day and night st Howmore hostel (bad weather settles in) Saturday 24th - Cycle to Lochboisdale. 05:50 ferry to Mallaig. Train to Glasgow then Carlisle
